Prior to my recent relocation to Arizona, I spent over two decades living, working, and playing in the Seattle and Puget Sound region. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I work full-time as a therapist and see patients in Washington, Arizona, and Colorado. I earned a Master's degree in Counseling and a Certificate in DV Advocacy from The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology in December 2006.
In my counseling practice, I approach therapy from two primary perspectives. The first perspective emphasizes the importance of examining our past stories and themes as a way to enhance our ability to live healthy and fulfilling lives today. By exploring our experiences with family, caregivers, schools, friends, breakups, successful relationships, and abusive ones, we can gain insights that empower us to achieve greater happiness and fulfillment in the present.
The second perspective I bring to my practice is grounded in the idea that addressing our basic needs is fundamental to effective therapy. Whether we're facing sudden tragedy, compulsive behaviors, financial stress, career changes, or other significant disruptions, therapy can be a powerful tool to help us navigate life's challenges. I prioritize emergent issues and basic needs in my work with clients, recognizing that these form the foundation for growth and healing.
